Supervision at ACSQ

Professional supervision provides a safe space for clergy and lay ministers to explore ministry issues and reflect on aims, vocation and wellbeing.

All active stipendiary clergy and select PTO clergy*, honorary clergy* and stipendiary lay ministers* are required to receive regular supervision of their work and ministry from an ACSQ approved professional supervisor.

More and more churches are becoming aware of the need for and benefits of professional supervision for those engaged in ministry.

Who does professional supervision benefit?

  • Those called to minister.

  • Those who are being ministered to.

  • The wider spiritual community.

*Please visit the ACSQ Professional Supervision Policy for the criteria on who has a requirement to engage in professional supervision.

Professional Supervision Guidebook

The professional supervision guidebook for clergy and lay leaders covers topics including the qualities of a good supervisor and how to prepare for and get the most out of professional supervision sessions.
